Symptoms
- Your character may be said to be "cached".
- CCP may report an authentication problem (as described in CCP Authentication error (EVEMon)).
Causes
For some reasons we're currently working on, EVEMon does not always take your API credentials (user ID, API key) into account and keep using the old ones.
Resolution
Your API credentials can be found at http://myeve.eve-online.com/api/default.asp myeve (official website).
- Right-click the throbber (the "flower" on the top right corner of your character page). Select "Change API key information".
- If this method failed, you have to manually edit your settings.
- Open your settings file as described in Settings file (EVEMon).
- Search for (Ctrl + F) your old user ID or API key.
- Replace them by their new values.
Please note you could also try to remove and, then, readd your character through the file menu but this options does not seem to work correctly.
